**NOTIFICATION OF WATER BILLING CHANGES**

The Board of Trustees approved Ord. 14-09: An Ordinance amending the Village of Stanford Municipal Code to provide amendments relating to PAYMENT FOR USE OF THE VILLAGE WATERWORKS SYSTEM

This ordinance went into effect on JANUARY 1, 2010.

Section 50.05(N) of the Municipal Code now reads;  "If a shut off notice is issued for any property that receives water and/or sewer service an additional fee of $25.00 shall be added to the outstanding bill which must be paid to avoid a shut off and if a shut off occurs the shut off notice fee must be paid before service shall be restored".

**PLEASE TAKE NOTICE**

Starting April 1, 2010 any meter that is read by the property owner/tenant within the Village of Stanford will have to be read every 2 months.  If a property owner/tenant does not submit a water meter reading card, after a letter of request is mailed by the Village Collector, the water may be shut off and the property owner/tenant will be subject to shut off and all fees that may apply.
